One Bush Street - San FranciscoThis project is about architectural photography we produced inside the iconic One Bush Street in the Financial District of San Francisco.
One Bush Street is an award-winning architectural landmark in San Francisco. And has the status of being a LEED® Platinum for Existing Buildings.
Our customer for this architectural photography project, Tishman Speyer, is a commercial real estate firm with remarkable properties like the Chrysler Building and Rockefeller Center in New York City.
The architectural photography challenge for this modern interior is showcasing the bold stairway design while framing in the expansive commercial lobby space for prospective lease opportunities. It was producing one set of interior design photographs that serves two purposes.
The technical solution for this architectural photography challenge is very high-resolution images. For this architectural photography project, we produced digital photos in the 18,000-20,000 pixel range. We achieve this resolution by capturing up to 70-80 individual images that are stitched together in post-production.
Part of the value in luxury commercial real estate is the excellent materials used to execute the design. High-resolution images like these resolve small details even with small compressed images on a web page like this. And look amazing in print or with large screen projections.
Another challenge we always need to overcome in commercial architecture photography projects is that people are generally working during the best time of day for the optimal lighting. Plants, furniture, people, papers, books, coffee cups, and all other objects that are visually confusing and distracting are removed and then replaced. Setting the scenes and returning everything is often forgotten when budgeting for architectural photography.

One Bush Street is a 19-story luxury office building located in the heart of the financial district in downtown San Francisco.
Constructed in 1959 and renovated in 1990, the glass office tower is set back from all neighboring properties on a beautifully landscaped 1.3-acre triangular site that includes a circular retail building.
One Bush Street is designed by Skidmore Owings and Merrill, and is widely recognized as a classic example of the International Style of architecture.
